TCC was founded to stop the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project. Its mission has broadened to combatting the way AI infrastructure is proposed in the State of Maryland.

Local Leaders. Global Impact.

How It Started

The Tri-County Coalition is a grassroots, citizen-powered advocacy group formed in 2024 in response to the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project being proposed as a new greenfield transmission line to primarily power data centers.

Who We Are

TCC is composed of local leaders from 30+ established nonprofit advocacy groups and Maryland businesses, including Sugarloaf Alliance, Envision Frederick, Land Preservation Trust, Valleys Planning Council, County Farm Bureaus, The Gaver Farm, Sparks Glencoe Community Planning Council, and many more.

Our Mission

TCCs main goal is to combat Ill-Conceived AI Infrastructure projects that are being proposed in the state of Maryland right now. We do this through education and organization of the public. We believe it is imperative that as a society we protect our clean air, fresh water supply, affordable electricity rates, our locally grown food, and our natural spaces. We must not sacrifice those things in the name of AI and truly in the name of profits.

Projects We are Actively Monitoring/Combating

The Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project, which is a 70-mile transmission line project that could potentially stretch through Baltimore, Carroll, and Frederick Counties.

The Quantum Loophole hyperscale Gigawatt Data Center Campus in Frederick County. Which is a proposed massive data center campus that the Frederick County Council is actively trying to expand.

The Baltimore County proposed large scale data center that was just announced. There will be more info on this as it unfolds.
